2005 IMLA Region 3A Educator of the Year
Leora White
This year’s recipient is Leora White, who teaches math at West Middle School in Nampa. More important than her National Board Certification, Leora is a true student advocate. Everything she does has its foundation in what is best for students. She realizes that the success of her students is dependent upon making students and their needs come first. She relates extremely well to middle school students and the ones fortunate enough to know her personally will remember her and be grateful to her. Not only is Leora well known for her positive relationships with students, she is also one of the best math teachers in the state. She is frequently called to work in district, state, and even national math initiatives. Her experience as a math educator is extensive stimulating wonderland of gadgets, puzzles, pictures and games that make math come alive for kids in her able hands. We are all grateful to Leora for the time and effort that she spends to inspire her students, team members and colleagues. She is a gift to our profession and we value her commitment to education. Congratulations Leora White!
